HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician FLSA Exemption Status : Non-Exempt Classification Group : Custodial, Maintenance, Grounds, and Carpentry Supervising Position : Manager or designee Pay Plan : Custodial, Maintenance, Grounds, and Carpentry Pay Range : Range 12 Last Updated : 08/20/2025 Pay Information Benefits Information JOB SUMMARY : Administers preventive maintenance and repairs for all heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment including lubrication, changing filters, cleaning coils, adjustment of dampers and controls, and changing motors and fans. Flexible work shifts are required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. Maintains preventative maintenance program and completes documentation as required. Daily 35% 2. Perform water treatment testing for all open and closed loops - report deficiencies to associated HVAC Technician. Daily 20% 3. Changes air filters and lubricates equipment as required. Daily 10% 4. Completes work orders and requests as assigned and maintains daily work log. Daily 10% 5. Provides support for other departments as required. Daily 5% 6. Covers for HVAC technician during vacation periods. Daily 5% 7. Log equipment performance as required. Daily 5% 8. Keep equipment clean and free of obstacles. Daily 5% 9. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Daily 5% TOTAL 100% REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS : This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired. Criminal background check and fingerprinting required High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma or equivalent Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or institutional HVAC systems Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool Colorado driver's license PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS : The physical demands, mental functions, cognitive capacities, and work environment factors required to perform a position's essential functions.
