Apply today if this sounds interesting to you! JOB DESCRIPTION: Food Service Workers are essential in feeding everyone within the hospital. They may help with: preparing a patient's meal and assembly of the tray for delivery, delivery of meals to patient rooms, dishwashing, separating trash/recycle/compost, and re-stocking supplies. Job routines require patient interaction, working as a team, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, and moving large carts throughout the hospital. Great attitude and navigation skills are helpful! Experience is preferred; however, this is a great way to join the UVMMC team and begin an amazing career in food service and healthcare. Hours: Variable hours with start time ranging between the hours of 5:00am-7:30am (8-hour shifts). Must be able to work every other weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred, minimum 18 years of age. Experience: Prior experience in a high volume, fast paced food service environment is preferred. Knowledge/Special Skills: Ability to read, speak, write and understand English. Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to follow basic oral and written instructions. Meets the physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods of time and walking long distances. Must be dependable - no excessive absenteeism/tardiness - per department policy. Understands and follows safety and sanitation procedures. PAY & BENEFITS: Base Pay: Hourly rates starting at $20.00/hour and up based on experience. In addition to the hourly pay rate, evening/weekend/night shift workers receive a differential, depending upon which shift is worked.
