Job Details Job overview:

To keep the kitchen and the kitchen equipment clean and organized at all times. To also support the Kitchen team with basic food preparation duties. And support the wider Club team in making The Philadelphia Club one of the finest private members clubs in the United States.

Essential functions:
  • To keep all kitchen equipment, clean and organized.
  • To be responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen floor (3rd floor).
  • To clean all kitchen equipment using the three-compartment sink for the heavy equipment, and the two-compartment sink and the dish machine for the plastic and small equipment.
  • To organize the dry good storage.
  • To ensure the basic preparation of vegetables, and other basic mise en place for the kitchen needs.
  • To understand the daily needs of the kitchen to keep the standards of The Philadelphia Club.
  • To be involved on the kitchen line with the rest of the kitchen team during service when needed.

Hours of work:

As required by the needs of the business the average working week will be 35 hours approximately. The normal working week will mostly be Monday to Friday, but you may be required to work weekends (occasional Saturdays or Sundays).

Skills and Requirements:

    • To be able to operate a dishwashing machine hot or low temperature.
    • To have the proper knowledge of the cleaning and sanitation process. (The Club will provide access to the Food Handler certification program from ServeSafe)
    • To have the proper knowledge of basic food handling. (The Club will provide access to the Food Handler certification program from ServeSafe)
    • To be able to handle knives safely and carry out basic food preparation tasks.
    • Ability to work standing in a hot environment.
    • Physical requirements for this role include but are not limited to: lifting of heavy objects (up to 50lbs), reaching including overhead, stooping, bending, and standing for prolonged periods of time.
    • Wastage to be aware of and help the kitchen team manage stock and reduce waste.
    • To be able to identify and rapidly solve problems as they occur.
