Cleve Housekeeping Manager

Summary:

Ensures a clean, comfortable and organized environment for hotel guests and staff by managing a productive housekeeping and cleaning staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Has ultimate responsibility for the cleanliness, orderliness and housekeeping in guest rooms, public areas, offices and grounds
  • Works with outsourced cleaning crew to ensure work meets Clevelander’s high standards for cleanliness
  • Prepares job assignments and follow up with team members to ensure work is completed within required, established time frame.
  • Conducts daily pre-shift with housekeeping team
  • Recruits, hires and trains housekeeping team
  • Ensures are team members are properly uniformed and use protective equipment at all times
  • Oversees the cleaning operations that occur in public areas of the property as well as guest rooms
  • Maintains a room history journal detailing inventory, maintenance requests, renovations and general cleaning
  • Manages and measures performance of all housekeeping staff and cleaning team members
  • Oversees and approves housekeeping schedule
  • Manages inventory system for supplies and equipment; purchases items when needed using parameters set by the Hotel Manager.
  • Develops training plans and ensures all housekeeping staff and cleaning team members are properly trained
  • Oversees lost and found procedures for items found in the hotel
  • Maintains guest history files on regular guests to fulfill any necessary special needs requests
  • Maintains records of linen usage compared to occupancy levels
  • Creates monthly schedules and ensures time and attendance compliance from housekeeping staff and cleaning team members
  • Maintains and ensures compliance of organization policies and procedures

Other Functions:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and 5 years of related experience, preferably in a hotel environment; 2 of which were spent in a managerial position

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general housekeeping related policies and procedures
  • Ability to verbally communicate with others in order to coach and lead
  • Strong interpersonal, managerial and leadership skills required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
