Our award-winning bar program is looking for an experienced bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate is professional, personable, and has excellent communication skills and a command on classic cocktails. Nelson's Green Brier Distillery bartenders will greet customers, interact regarding their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. Serving bar patrons our bartenders prepare drink orders for the dining room and serve tables within the bar area. A successful Bartender at Nelson's has a neat appearance, an engaging friendly personality and an observant, efficient work ethic. Nelson's Green Brier Distillery is a rapidly growing company with ample opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
  • Interact with customers, take orders of food and drinks
  • Assess customers needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails to Nelsons specifications
  • Plan and present bar menu
  • Check customers identification and confirm it meets Tennessees drinking requirements
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies before and after each shift
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations for the State of Tennessee

***General Requirements***

Bartending

When working in Bartending Position through Bluecrew, you may be expected to do any and all of the following:

  • Working independently or in a team to mix, prepare, serve, or transport alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Engaging with customers while operating a point of sale machine or cash register in a professional and courteous manner
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment, or other items at the start or end of your shift
  • Work on your feet, either stationary or constantly moving for the full shift
  • Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities at times, as required by the immediate supervisor
  • Comfortable working in a busy and at times hectic environment
  • There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.
  • Note for that for any event staff position that requires handling food, you will need to follow GMP guidelines which include keeping your hair up, neatly trimmed fingernails, and you may be required to cover any facial hair.

It is important to Bluecrew that you go home in the same healthy state that you came to work in, so please do not accept this assignment if you cannot fulfill all of the above duties.
