Summary
Reporting to the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Environmental Services Aide (ESA) will perform daily cleaning as outlined by Supervisor and cleaning schedule. The ESA will perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services department. The ESA is responsible for following and enforcing infection control and sanitizing guidelines to provide a safe and sanitary environment.
Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service.
Perform cleaning of main vestibule entrance, waiting area and reception areas to include glass, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, and wipe down of tables and chairs.
Perform cleaning of exam rooms and nurse stations to include trash removal, sweep and wash floors, dust, wipe down exam table metal sides, sterilize exam table upholstery, restock consumable goods, wipe down counters and clean sinks.
Perform cleaning of restrooms to include clean/sanitize all fixtures, wash/polish mirrors, trash removal, sweep and wash floors, waxing, refill all paper products and soap.
Perform cleaning of offices and medical storage to include vacuuming, trash removal and dusting of horizontal surfaces and HVAC vents.
Perform cleaning of break rooms to include washing of tabletops and counter tops, trash removal, repositioning of tables and chairs, sweep and wash floors, wipe out microwave, weekly cleaning of refrigerators and restocking of consumable goods.
Perform cleaning of hallways and common areas to include vacuuming, sweep and wash floors, wipe down coffee stations and copy rooms, wipe clean and polish water stations.
Perform cleaning of conference rooms to include wiping down tables, repositioning of tables and chairs, dusting horizontal surfaces, vacuuming (underneath furniture as well), remove trash.
Perform weekly and biweekly cleaning routines according to schedule as well as specialty cleaning as requested.
Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure maintenance records are up to date.
Qualifications
1+ year of Environmental Services (ES) experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
Ability to demonstrate independent action during shifts when required.
Understanding of the importance of maintaining a clean facility as part of patient care.
Knowledge of housekeeping processes and associated equipment.
Flexibility to respond to the needs of the Health Center.
Strong customer service values and positive attitude.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
Ability to read and effectively communicate in English.
Accountability for completing all assigned work.
Professionalism at all times when working in areas occupied by staff and patients.

Physical Requirements
Frequent standing and walking for up to 80% of the work day or shift.
Regular lifting, pushing or pulling required up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
Able to freely reach above head, kneel, stoop, and/or crouch.
Able to climb ladders.
Able to work alone or as a crew member both inside and outside; may be exposed to extreme temperatures.
Work Environment
Frequent contact with patients, families, visitors, nurses and other department staff.
Occasional requests to change work areas to cover another priority area to meet patient needs.
Occasional stress and pressure caused by multiple simultaneous demands.
May be exposed to various body fluids and/or infectious diseases.
Universal precautions and techniques are included in orientation and the availability of protective wear is supported and encouraged when the employee is at risk for exposure.
