Position Summary:

Under limited supervision, provides single source multi-discipline capability in the repair, maintenance, installation and enhancement of machinery and equipment representing high complexity with respect to interrelated systems. May provide work leadership to other team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Work safely and without injury.
  • Assembles and installs mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems such as production machinery/tools.
  • Uses variety of hand and power tools, and machines to perform duties.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of bearings, gears, structural components, etc.
  • Designs, develops, and implements preventative maintenance programs on machinery and mechanical systems. Performs required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc. Analyzes associated data and logs.
  • Performs non-certified welding and machining operations incidental to repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Works with engineers to assist in the design of parts and equipment.
  • Evaluates data to determine equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all failures in any equipment or system using in-depth knowledge of multiple technologies, which include but are not limited to robotics, pick and place, assembly presses and fixtures.
  • Performs precision alignments, assemblies and other tests associated with installation, qualification and/or refurbishment on all machinery and equipment.
  • Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance determines nature of problem and recommends appropriate solution.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter change, etc.
  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
  • May do limited carpentry and painting.
  • May have assigned duties in carrying out the hazardous materials program.
  • May participate in Warn Industries' Selection Process.
  • Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem-solving, etc.)
  • Implements the Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities.
  • May be required to work overtime

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five to eight years of maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in skilled trades.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings.
  • Must have well-rounded knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, and materials used within the mechanic's trade.
  • Understanding building codes is desirable.
  • Must possess basic reading, writing, and computation skills.
  • Ability to continuously improve and learn new skills.
  • Must possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and visitors.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, verbalize, and comprehend instructions and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to team members and customers, as job duties require. Conflict resolution skills. Good interpersonal skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have basic computation skills equivalent to education requirement. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.

Physical and Visual Activities:

Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, acuity-far, acuity-near, depth perception and field of vision. See all colors.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is continuously standing, repetitively grasping, and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands. The team members may be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist as well as repetitively push or pull. Individuals must be able to work at heights. Will be required to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:

This position is performed in a shop environment. Team members in this position will be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors. The team members will frequently be required to work outside and at heights. The team member may occasionally be required to work in an office environment.
