Deli Kitchen Dishwasher
Be a part of the Zingerman's Deli Team! If you are interested in a fast paced, fun and friendly environment and would like to be one of our kitchen dishwashers-we'd love to have you on our team! You are the heartbeat of our kitchen department-washing dishes from the production of food in the Deli and assisting in completing the production of key menu items. We are looking for full-time staff. This position pays $16-$19/hour including tips. We also pay you to learn (no prior food knowledge necessary, just a passion for learning) AND you'll also get a free meal on each shift, a paid break, a staff discount at all Zingerman's businesses, access to health insurance, a super discounted bus pass, and lots of other staff benefits.
Compensation: $16-$19/hour (includes tips)
- Full-time, 27-40 hours/week
- Part-time, 8-24 hours/week
- Weekend availability
- Morning, afternoon and evening shifts available

Our Performance Expectations - Essential Functions:
- Washes dishes to meet cleanliness standards
- Puts away clean, dry dishes in proper places
- Keeps unwashed dishes and dish area clean and organized
- Maintains clean kitchen floor: sweeping, spraying, mopping when necessary
- Cleans burners, stove, pans, plastic, underneath, behind and in front of stove
- Takes out garbage and dirty linens regularly
- Heats soups and barbecue items following proper process and maintaining correct temps
- Takes care of transferring, cooling and storing (including labeling and dating) chicken broth and roasters
- Understands and avoids food temperature "danger zone"
- Knows what to do during Health Inspection
- Performs work station sanitation properly
- Knows and follows proper rotation, dating and food storage procedures
- Completes assigned tasks on time, or tells production manager/supervisor before deadline that you need help
- Uses food products & disposables responsibly, upholding our commitment to only send out high quality products while keeping waste to a minimum
The Success Patterns for this position:
- Has some past kitchen experience
- Has basic kitchen and knife skills
- Has a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Can work early mornings (as early as 8am) and late evenings (as late as 11pm)
- Has prior work experience that required the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
