The Food Service Specialist III works under the Food Service Director preparing various styles of food using food service preparation equipment specializing in the use of technically advanced cook/chill food production methods, in compliance with department local, state, and federal guidelines.

In this position, the Food Service Specialist III will:

• Assists in the preparation and serving of all meals
• Weighs and measures ingredients to make sure that required amounts of food are prepared
• Serves portions of food that meet the nutritional requirements of the National School Food Service (NSFS) Program
• Cleans assigned section in the food service area to meet guidelines and standards set by DHEC
• Operates the following:
• Mixer
• Can opener
• Meat slicer
• Dishwashing machines and ovens

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent and experience in quantity and quality cooking.

• Ability to work with others
• Knowledge of safety practices relevant to that area of employment
• May require evenings and/or weekends
• May require employee to work during emergency situations.
