The Corporate Office Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and HVAC systems in the White Lodging corporate office building. This role ensures the facility is maintained in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner, aligning with company standards, budgeted maintenance cost and regulatory requirements. May be needed onsite at White Lodging properties as needed.
Responsibilities
Facility Operations
- Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment and systems.
- Monitor building management systems (BMS) for alerts and performance metrics.
- Respond promptly to service requests.
Maintenance and Repairs
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues.
- Replace filters, belts, and worn components as needed to maintain system integrity.
- Maintain logs and documentation for maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Energy and Efficiency
- Identify opportunities for energy conservation and recommend improvements.
- Monitor and optimize building energy usage to meet sustainability goals.
Vendor and Contractor Coordination
- Assist with oversight of third-party vendors for scheduled maintenance, inspections, and capital projects.
- Communicate with vendors on quotation preparations, approvals and service coordination.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety, security, and building policies.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and building codes.
- Maintain fire/life safety systems and support emergency preparedness protocols.
- Ensures adherence to the White Lodging Way for Engineering/Corporate Office METS program.
- Participate in safety training and drills; follow all company safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to include excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines within budget and schedule.
- Mechanical aptitude to service commercial kitchen and food service equipment, HVAC and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking abilities.
- Finishing skills to repair walls and paint to match existing surfaces including wood touch-up.
- Electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and office equipment.
- Basic PC skills to utilize MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years previous experience in maintenance field and office environments.
- Experience with commercial HVAC, electrical systems and plumbing infrastructure.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to:
o Work at heights on roof and 12 ladder.
o Work in confined spaces.
o Lift 50 lbs.
o Move furniture in a push/pull team lift at +/- 100 lbs.
- Position requires outside work, after-hours availability for emergencies/system monitoring, occasional nights, weekends and holidays. Serves as member of emergency response team for the corporate office.
- Limited travel, but may be required if needed in a WL property.
