Bartell Hotels is an equal opportunity employer.Primary Objective of Laundry Attendant PositionTo maintain the condition of all hotel linen in accordance with the standards of Bartell Hotels through efficient cleaning and processing ResponsibilitiesInsures maximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry prior to washing according to fabric type, color, item or soil concentrationPulls damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading washers Insures maximum loading capacity by weighing bed linens prior to washingLoads washers and dryers to recommended weightsSaves energy by setting dryers for proper heating and cooling timesPlaces only proper linens in the dryer to be driedOperates, maintains, and cleans laundry and equipment according to company standardsInforms supervisor or management of any mechanical failures or supply shortages, so corrective action can be implementedPresses and folds all linen, uniforms, and other necessary articlesAssists in delivering linen to closets and storage areas Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and proceduresKeeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significanceOther duties may be assigned as needed Physical Demands & Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The employee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying 50 pounds. The employee is sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
