Cleaner / Groundskeeper

Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a full time opening for a Cleaner\Groundskeeper. Candidate will be responsible to perform routine cleaning duties of school buildings and routine work in the maintenance of school grounds. Cleaning duties include: sweep, mop and wax floors; wash windows; clean bathrooms and replenish supplies; dustsempty trash receptacles; replace light bulbs.Groundskeeping duties include: Operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment; shovel and plow snow and ice;patch blacktop; clean gutters and catch basins; care of lawns and athletic fields; care of flowerbeds; leaf pick up; trim hedges, trees and shrubs.Qualifications: Familiarity with building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment; working knowledge of the accepted procedures and practices of grounds maintenance work; ability to use building cleaning supplies and equipment; ability to use groundskeeping equipment; ability to follow simple oral and written directions; willingness to work outside during inclement weather; thoroughness; dependability.
