GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Camp Guernsey Billeting Office is seeking a full-time housekeeper. This position will be responsible for daily maintenance and general cleaning of all billets on base and will work Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Customer service to include ensuring all rooms are cleaned and sanitary according to the SOP standard operating procedure. Providing specific requirements for units and individuals
Performing a variety of cleaning duties, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, dusting, and polishing furniture. Knowledge using a variety of machines, vacuums, floor polisher/striper, carpet shampooer.
Determines appropriate chemical solutions for cleaning and disinfection. SDS knowledge of chemicals and safety, and the required PPE. Keeping the SDS cleaning supplies clearly marked and SDS books up to date
Clean and sanitize bathrooms and latrines, including floors and walls
Inventory management of cleaning and paper supplies, and reorder levels. Stock cleaning supplies and linen.
Observe and identify hazard areas needing repair, and notify the manager to submit work orders
Sanitize, clean linen and towels and redistribute to the correct facilities. Tracks and logs quantities of laundry collected and processed.
Responsible for grounds around lodging areas, snow removal, applying ice melt, and picking up trash.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preferencemay be given to those with a High School Diploma and six (6) monthsof work experience in Buildings and Grounds or Housekeeping.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and more technical cleaning and maintenance methods.
- Knowledge of power and manual tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Buildings and Grounds)
OR
Education & ExperienceSubstitution:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Buildings and Grounds)

Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, chemicals, body parts, bio-hazards, potential explosives, and elements.
- Must be able to drive vehicles and operate large complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Required to lift up to 50 Lbs.
- The successful applicant will be required to work Monday-Friday with occasional weekends.
- Must have a driver's license and be able to safely operate a vehicle.
