Overnight Janitor

About the Role:

The Non Union Janitor at our Grand Rapids location plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our consumer support services facility. This position ensures that all assigned areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to company standards and health regulations, contributing directly to the overall operational efficiency and employee well-being. The janitor will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks, waste disposal, and minor maintenance duties, supporting a hygienic workspace that enhances productivity and customer satisfaction. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet daily cleaning schedules. Ultimately, the janitor helps uphold the company's commitment to providing a professional and pleasant environment for both employees and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a consumer support services or similar facility environment.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and techniques.
• Certification in workplace safety or hazardous materials handling.
• Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with team members.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous roles.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces in offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with company policies and environmental guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning activities to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for company events or meetings as required.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used safely and stored properly.
