About the Role:
The Non Union Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within consumer support service facilities. This position ensures that all designated areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to meet health and safety standards, contributing to the overall satisfaction of both employees and customers. The janitor will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks as well as addressing any immediate cleaning needs that arise throughout the day. By performing these duties diligently, the janitor supports the smooth operation of the facility and helps uphold the organization's professional image. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to facility maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, including safe handling procedures.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a consumer support services environment or similar facility.
- Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices.
- Certification in workplace safety or cleaning standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with team members.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal in offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces and restrooms regularly to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of germs.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning rounds to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for meetings or special events as needed.
