Duties

Help

Major duties include (bur are not limited to):

Installion, preventive maintenance, and repairs to mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Installs and maintain commercial HVAC systems and all associed components including wer-cooled chillers, air-cooled chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, VAVs, pumps, valves, piping, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, controls, steam system, building automions systems etc.

Installs, and repairing all types of wer and sewer lines, hydrants, wer mains, wer closets, lavories, showers, sinks, etc.

Installs, modifies, and repairs plumbing systems.

Installs, modifies maintains, and repairs electrical wiring systems, reled switches, distribution panels, and outlet boxes.

Uses skills from a variety of trades such as plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, and mechanical.

Conducts inspections and performing routine maintenance on area of responsibility assigned.

Uses pneumic and electronic DDC controls to opere various systems.

Uses established preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for the direction of work.

Interprets technical instruction manuals, troubleshooting and opering guides, installion manuals, building, plumbing, and mechanical codes, policies, blueprints and drawings, work orders, and other written guidance.

Utilizes written work orders with or without sketches and/or blueprints to carry out work.

Interprets and apply building plans and blueprints and lay out such things as angles, arcs, and circles.

Interprets technical instruction manuals, troubleshooting and opering guides, installion manuals, building, plumbing, and mechanical codes, Medical Center policies, blueprints and drawings, work orders, and other written guidance.

Reads and interpret technical instruction manuals, troubleshooting and opering guides, installion manuals, building, plumbing, and mechanical codes, blueprints and drawings, work orders, and other written guidance.

Uses equipment and tools common to the electrical trade to accomplish daily work.

Uses equipment and shop tools common to the plumbing trade to accomplish daily work.

Performs preventive maintenance on shop tools and equipment to ensure safe and proper function.

Fabrices replacement parts which are not readily available to make repairs on tools and equipment.

Responsible for the security and care of all tools and equipment assigned to them and for always keeping them in good safe working conditions.

Troubleshoots to identify problems with equipment or system, determining proper repairs necessary, obtaining necessary parts from stock or by submitting a parts request order to the supervisor.

Selects merials and obtains replacement parts by comparison with the part to be replaced, or by reference to supply lists and manufacturers' calogs.

Prepares drawings and sketches, develops bills of merials, estimes costs, and clearly communices with supervisors, engineers, purchasing agents, and others on the resources needed to complete required work.

Oversees the requisition of merials, tools, and equipment as necessary to perform assigned duties.

Plans the merials, tools, and techniques needed for completing work assignments.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Physical Requirements: The incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding and hydraulic plforms. He/she often works in portions of the utility systems requiring tention th are cramped, dirty and hard-to-reach locions. The work may involve prolonged crouching and standing and frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in exhausting and uncomfortable positions. The incumbent frequently lifts or carries tools, equipment, ladders, scaffolding, parts and supplies up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, the incumbent required to lift and carry items over 50 pounds

Working Conditions: Exposed frequently to temperure extremes, drafts, dampness, wer, and noise for work conditions. The majority of work takes place in an industrial environment but does require work outdoors, exposed to the elements. He will frequently encounter ladders, cwalks, confined spaces, etc. Incumbent could be subjected to hazards normally encountered in the trade. This position may require working overtime.
