Help

Manages a complex large-scale healthcare system environmental services program for the EMS. Determines short-range, intermedie, and long-range goals and policies in conjunction with higher management and/or approprie hospital committees. Determines the need for allocion of resources within EMS for a wide range of environmental services requirements.

Serves as a consultant and advisor on environmental mters to the Healthcare System Director and executive leadership. Provides staff support to various services and staff throughout the healthcare system.

Collabores closely with the Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C) department to establish aseptic techniques, approprie cleaners, disinfectants and cleaning processes in order to provide a safe, clean, healing environment to reduce Hospital Acquired infections

Develops policies, procedures, and guidelines for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting and follows the recommendions from Environmental Programs Service and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Develops performance standards, counsels, mentors and appraises employees. Prepares justificions for performance rings, approves disciplinary actions, and other adverse actions. Keeps subordines advised on overall personnel management mters and changes affecting the VHA

Serves as the Pest Management Officer (PMO) for the Health Care System. As the PMO, the HHO ensures th the facility meets the requirements of VHA directive 1850.02 (1) Pest Management Operions.

Oversees a large-scale operion Textile Care Processing Facility (TCPF) and contracts with a capacity of over 1 million processing pounds per year.

Oversees the Interior Design Program. Determines priorities as they rele to Interior Design. Provides operion and activion budgets to executive leadership for both recurring funds and special.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (schedule may vary based on needs of the service)
