Technician - Groundskeeper

Role Summary

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the ESC’s properties to ensure a safe, clean, and attractive environment. This role includes mowing, trimming, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance across all facilities. The Grounds Keeper plays an important role in maintaining the professional appearance of ESC properties and supporting a welcoming atmosphere for staff and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to operate and maintain lawn care equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of proper landscaping and grounds maintenance practices.
  • Ability to operate lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other related equipment safely.
  • Basic understanding of irrigation and plant care.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean and orderly grounds.

Essential Functions

  • Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas across ESC properties.
  • Plant, water, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, and flowers as needed.
  • Perform general upkeep of walkways, parking lots, and outdoor spaces, including removing trash, debris, and hazards.
  • Maintain and perform basic repairs on grounds equipment and tools.
  • Monitor grounds for safety concerns and report issues to supervisor.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, minor irrigation adjustments, and storm cleanup.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and ESC policies.
