Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $17 - $20 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Hotel Maintenance Worker:

  • Preventative Maintenance & Inspections:
  • Routinely inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior grounds to identify potential safety hazards or repair needs
  • Perform preventive maintenance on major building systems, including HVAC units, refrigeration appliances, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure
  • Lubricate equipment, change filters, and check fire extinguishers according to a set schedule
  • Guest Services & Work Orders:
  • Respond immediately to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff (e.g., fixing leaky faucets, adjusting room temperatures, or repairing broken locks)
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • General Repairs:
  • Perform trade tasks across multiple disciplines, including basic carpentry, drywall patching, painting, and flooring repairs
  • Fix minor electrical issues (e.g., changing light fixtures, repairing outlets) and basic plumbing (e.g., clearing clogged drains, fixing leaks)
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Maintain familiarity with the property's alarm and fire systems to quickly detect and respond to fire hazards or security breaches
  • Oversee outside contractors when specialized construction or repair jobs are necessary

Job requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
  • Experience: Proven experience in general maintenance, building operations, or a specialized trade (plumbing, HVAC, electrical)
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with blueprints, repair manuals, and electronic testing devices
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing for long periods, climbing ladders, lifting heavy items, and crawling in tight spaces
  • Soft Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong time management, and the ability to communicate politely with guests and coworkers
  • Background Check Required
