Room attendants perform routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms. They ensure that all rooms are inviting and clean and they address all guest queries politely and knowledgeably. Room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should also able to address guest requests and problems. This position should maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all housekeeping departmental policies/service and the hotel's procedures/standards. Additionally, maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.

Essential functions

Greet each guest, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive experience.
Attends to guest calls, guest requests /guest complaints in assigned areas
Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
Dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, etc.
Wet mop floors in all residents rooms and bathrooms daily.
Clean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs, and showers daily.
Replenish amenities according to the operational standards.
Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boards
Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required
Clean all air vents.
Clean outdoor decks.
Responsible for following the standard operating procedures.
Responsible for achieving and exceeding the guest satisfaction
Update status of rooms cleaned through proper channels
Return and restock cart at end of shift.
Offer ideas on improving services and cost reductions.
Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets tile, broken windowpanes, furniture needing repairs.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
Always maintain positive guest relations.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Fully aware of and comply with Inns policies and procedures as identified in the procedure manual and handbook. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Work environment
Working conditions are based in a hospitality setting.
Associates may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
Exposed to damp, dusty and dirty areas.
Exposed to cleaning solvents and chemicals.
Physical demands
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the hotel and property, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and standing for the duration of the shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Will frequently have to push, pull, carry, lift or move up to 25 pounds.
