Food Service Cook/Server - PART TIME Location: Payette School District Position Type: Classified Work Schedule: part-time actual schedule to be determined by district needs Reports To: Food Service Director Position Summary The Payette School District is seeking a responsible, dependable individual to support daily food service operations. This role plays a key part in providing nutritious meals to students in a clean, safe, and efficient environment. The Food Service Cook/Server assists with food preparation, serving, sanitation, and overall kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. This is a part-time position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch meals in accordance with district menus and USDA guidelines Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, warmers, dishwashers, slicers, etc.) Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, serving lines, and dining areas Wash dishes, trays, utensils, and food preparation equipment Follow proper food handling, storage, and temperature procedures Stock and organize food, supplies, and deliveries Accurately portion and serve meals to students and staff Provide courteous and respectful customer service to students and staff Assist with inventory and notify the supervisor of needed supplies Follow all district, state, and federal nutrition program requirements Identify and report safety or maintenance concerns promptly Support special events or alternative meal service needs as assigned Qualifications Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to be trained) Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs.; ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Ability to work around students and staff in a professional manner Ability to pass a background check Terms of Employment Salary in accordance with the Payette School District classified salary schedule Employment is contingent upon successful completion of: Criminal background check Fingerprinting Required district training Equal Opportunity Employer Payette School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable law.
