Custodian Job Title:
Custodial Reports to: Site Supervisor Daily Work Direction Provided By: Supervisor SUMMARY Performs variety of cleaning and janitorial services in assuring the cleanliness, neatness, and orderliness of the client’s facilities
POSITION SUMMARY: Custodial workers are those employees who are generally responsible for the cleaning of all areas of the buildings. These areas include offices, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, and other public areas such as cafeterias, auditoriums, and restrooms. Project work, especially floor maintenance, may be included in the duties of these employees if these duties are assigned. Other required duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
Scope of work: Directly responsible for daily cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting areas. Ensure all work is accomplished according to customers and company’s specifications Duties:
• Restroom cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting • Rooms cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting,
• Dusting, Vacuuming, mopping
• Glass and window cleaning
• Identify customer needs and relay information to the site supervisor
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and CDC Guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting
• Ensure tasks are being performed in a timely manner • non-emergency situations.
•Use good time management.
• Flexibility in schedule. May be required to work nights.
• Keeping all grounds clean and free from paper and litter.
• Office cleaning.
• auditorium, library, conference room etc. cleaning • Trash removal. • Record time worked
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Attend scheduled training sessions.
• Follow instructions from supervisors; adhere to company and component policies and procedures.
• Display safe work practices
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests STATUS AND SCOPE: This is the reporting relationships, special skills and abilities required to perform essential job functions. The position reports to a Lead Custodian. The Lead Custodian reports to a Team Clean manager. The position supports the operations of the facility that is managed by the School Principal or the Principal’s designee. It requires knowledge of cleaning equipment, floor maintenance equipment, alarm/security systems and the ability to effectively communicate with custodial employees and school staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience and education/training typically necessary to perform the essential job functions. This position requires experience in custodial work, preferably in a school environment. The employee must be able to demonstrate an ability to perform the essential job functions. USE OF EQUIPMENT: The following equipment is typically used in this position. The employee must demonstrate an ability to operate or learn the use of each item: 1) Light vacuum (upright or backpack) 2) Heavy vacuum
Brooms and mops TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel to business-related functions (typically training). The person in this position could also be asked to move from one location to another during the scheduled shift. There may be travel requirements in this position. LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: The typical lifting requirements of this position. Lifiting50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. This is considered a medium lifting required position.
