PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perform regular inspections and conduct routine maintenance on various equipment, including Smog Hog, HEPA vacuum, Dust Collector, Sand Blast, Paint Booths, and Pressure Washers Booths. Routine maintenance will involve performing Preventive Maintenance replacing filters, minor system lubrication, cleaning of equipment, and inspection of cleaning equipment systems for its worn out and nonfunctioning components. Identify potential issues before they become a major problem. Ensure all equipment is in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and follow company policies and procedures.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), screwdriver, wrenches, pliers, cutters, step ladder, flashlight, shovel, broom, air pressure hose, vacuum cleaner, scissor lift, boom lift, electric utility vehicle.
MATERIALS:
EHS approved lubrication and cleaning solvents, hand gloves, rags, filters, etc.
WORKING PROCEDURE:
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT, NOR THE QUESTION BEING RAISED ON THE PROPER RATE FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.
1. Receive work assignment from supervisor and/or team lead.
2. Follow and adhere to all Plant Rules, Plant Safety Rules and Regulations.
3. Read, understand, and follow safety regulations and procedures, drawings, specifications, work authorizations, and service manuals.
4. Conduct routine maintenance which will include equipment functionality inspection, cleanliness, and safety condition.
5. Perform preventive maintenance which includes filter inspections and replacement, debris removal, and pivot joint and wheel lubrication.
6. Clean equipment using compressed air and water hose, vacuum, cleaning solvent, and rags.
7. Provide cleaning assistance during troubleshooting and/or repairing steam cleaners, paint booths, blast booths, pumps, and other components (small & large machinery).
8. Identify and replace worn or clogged filters on vacuum equipment, steam booth, blast booth, and paint booth.
9. Provide support to abrasive grit media removal on equipment surface and surrounding areas using appropriate vacuum equipment, absorbents, containment kits, and cleaning agents while wearing required PPE.
10. Check equipment in operation for unusual motor noises, leaks, vibration, cracks or wear, tightness of nuts and bolts, proper lubrication, etc.
11. Perform minor adjustments and repairs by tightening loose fittings, replace worn seals, and perform simple adjustments on vacuum units , and blast booth/paint booth filter replacements.
12. Report faulty equipment and unsafe conditions by notifying immediate lead, supervisor, or manager.
13. Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance shops, and work area in a clean and organized manner.
14. Make proper time charge entries and record data as required.
15. Attend passdown meetings, training sessions, safety briefings, and skilldevelopment workshops.
16. Perform other work of equal or lower classification as required.
17. Ensure scheduled and unscheduled work is correctly documented and closed out if applicable in Maintenance Connection.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent GED and/or Mechanical Trade School.
Minimum1year of work experience performing routine maintenance on industrial equipment (e.g., vacuums, dust collectors, paint/ blast booths, pressure washers).
Experience reading and interpreting safety regulations, work orders, drawings, and service manuals.
Experience with hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, cutters) and portable equipment (step ladder, flashlight).
Experience with personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices required by plant and federal regulations.
Ability to lift25lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
Experience with completing work orders, and using Maintenance Connection or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as OSHA 40hour HAZWOPER, EPA/HazMat handling, fall protection, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), or similar EHS training.
Certified operation of scissor lifts, boom lifts, or electric utility vehicles.
Experience with specialized equipment: Smog Hog, HEPA vacuums, sandblast systems, paintbooths, and steam cleaners
Experience with preventivemaintenance best practices (filter inspection/replacement, lubrication of pivot joints, wheel bearings).
Experience performing minor mechanical repairs (tightening fittings, replacing seals, filter changes) and troubleshoot motor noises, leaks, vibration, or wear issues.
Experience with EHSapproved lubricants, cleaning solvents, and wastecontainment procedures.
Experience with reporting unsafe conditions, attending passdown meetings, and documenting work in a detailed, organized manner
Experience working manufacturing or marinesystems environment.
