JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Beverage Server ensures that servers provide fast (20 minutes or less round time), friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests; carry full trays on every round. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Takes drink orders, communicates with bartender, assists in the preparation of drinks and presents drinks to guests
  • Maintains clean and stocked workstation
  • Handles money according to procedure
  • Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to guidelines
  • Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions; appears in publicity photos
  • Promotes casino events and programs
  • Works closely with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, bar helpers, beverage supervisor, and slots supervisor
  • Provides personalized service and uses guest names
  • Resolves service problems according to guidelines
  • Takes food orders when working in the pub & poker room and delivers to guests
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Attend all necessary training meetings.
  • Assist in other projects, as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Count money and change correctly
  • Know tray service, cocktail ingredients
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of background investigation and drug screening

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino while carrying trays.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on carpeted and hard surfaces continuously for up to 6-8 hours per shift while wearing required safety footwear.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright or flashing lights and dust.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 20-25 lbs. multiple times for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach above and below the shoulder, grip small items (i.e., pens, money, garnishes), bend, stoop and twist while serving cocktails.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment.
  • Must be able to perform job duties in a manner that ensures the safety of the employee, coworkers, and patrons.
  • Must be able to maintain continuous awareness of surroundings, including patrons, obstacles, and moving equipment and simultaneously monitor patron activity, employee performance, and service flow.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
