General Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting chef(s) and cooks in preparation of salad, main dishes, snack trays and other foods.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Good personal communications skills
Ensures temperatures of all foods, salads and soups are properly maintained.
Keeps clean, sanitary and organized work areas and kitchen equipment.
Excellent customer relations skills.
Secondary Functions:
Assists other employees when needed.
Other tasks deemed necessary by supervisor.
Completes cash transactions when cook or cashier are not available.
Specific Job Skills:
Good verbal and written skills
Ability to handle difficult and/or stressful situations.
Ability to follow instructions,
Knowledge of health standards and proper cooking and food storage temperatures
Able to solve problems quickly
Knowledge in use of kitchen equipment
Desire to learn new tasks and assume new tasks.
QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working with and around kitchen equipment sometimes under crowded, sometimes stressful, conditions, frequent interruptions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Able to lift 40 lbs.
