Head Pastry Chef - Washington, D.C., USA We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Washington, D.C. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the pastry department, including creating new dessert menus, training staff, and maintaining high standards of quality and consistency. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and create new dessert menus that are both visually appealing and delicious - Train, mentor, and supervise pastry staff to ensure high-quality standards are met - Manage inventory and ordering of pastry ingredients - Monitor food costs and labor costs to maintain profitability - Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in the pastry department - Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus for events or special occasions Requirements: - Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel - Proven track record of creating innovative and visually stunning desserts - Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team - Knowledge of various baking techniques, including gluten-free and vegan options - Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Salary: 1800$ per month (negotiable based on experience) Working Hours: Full-time position with flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
