Job Summary:

A Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of buildings, facilities, and public spaces. This role plays a crucial part in creating a safe and pleasant environment for occupants and visitors. Would be performing groundskeeping a few days a week and custodial work on remaining days.

Education: GED

Experience: 1-2 years preferred

Time Management: Efficient time management for completing cleaning tasks within schedules.

Communication: Clear communication for reporting maintenance or safety issues.

Equipment Operation: Competence in using and maintaining cleaning tools and equipment.

Team Collaboration: Collaboration with other janitors or maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities:

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, and shampoo carpets as needed.

Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly.

Clean and sanitize bathrooms and restock supplies.

Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs.

Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in working order.

Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Report any maintenance or safety issues to management for prompt resolution.

Respond to cleaning emergencies and requests in a timely manner.

Be able to lift up to 15lb.

Walk upstairs if necessary.

Exterior groundskeeping twice a month.

Employees are required to be available to escort subcontractors and/or management as necessary, and promptly respond to inquiries from both supervisors and subcontractors.

Travel if needed or upon supervisors request.
