The Equipment Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, healthy, inviting fitness center. Daily cleaning the equipment and environment positively affects equipment safety and functionality, a vital aspect of our service. Standard surface cleaning practices and equipment are employed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Arrive on time and ready for work in proper attire. (Uniform tee-shirts are issued.) Operate the time keeping system. (a card will be issued.) Don gloves and other PPE as recommended.
2. Maintain a neat orderly supplies closet. Refill inventory at hand or request additional supplies as necessary.
3. Understand and demonstrate which cleaning solutions to use on which surfaces. Do not mix solutions on the same cleaning cloth or in spray bottles.
4. DAILY clean ALL touched surfaces on ALL equipment, such as upholstered pads, hand grips, touch pads/screens, etc. and easy to reach dusting and RECORD your progress on the checklist.
5. DAILY clean all specified loose equipment such as medicine balls, floor pads, etc. as noted on the checklist.
6. Daily select 5-6 pieces on which to perform detail cleaning such that all are detail cleaned monthly. Use the checklist to communicate your progress with co-workers and supervisor.
7. As necessary refill solution bottles and towel dispensers throughout your work area.
8. As necessary, safely operate the freight elevator and laundry washer/dryer to wash rags and refill jugs.
9. Exit the building in an emergency and find your supervisor or other staff at the safe meeting location.
10. Routinely meet with your supervisor for performance evaluations.
11. Report observed failures of exercise equipment such as torn upholstery, broken damaged unsafe or nonfunctioning equipment.
12. Refer patron assistance requests to other staff.
13. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School or equivalent education.
As the machines rest on the floor, one must kneel, squat, bend and stretch to effectively reach the surfaces to be cleaned. Lift 45 lbs.
