Host team-New Modern California Bistro & Lounge Opening

Objective/Purpose of the Position The Host is the first and last impression for guests, managing the door, reservations, and seating flow with warmth and professionalism in a fast-paced, elevated California bistro.
The Host works closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to manage guest flow and deliver an exceptional welcome. Tasks/Responsibilities Guest Experience
Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival and thank them upon departure.
Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating to optimize guest flow and table turns.
Communicate wait times accurately and manage the door during peak service.
Answer phones, take reservations, and respond to guest inquiries professionally.
Coordination & Support
Coordinate seating with servers and management to balance sections.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming entrance and host area.
Communicate guest needs, special requests, and concerns to management.
Compliance
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation requirements and report concerns to management. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the duration of a shift.

Frequent interaction with guests and staff, including clear verbal communication. Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications California Food Handler Card preferred, or obtained within 30 days of hire.
Minimum of 3 years of guest-facing hospitality experience in a fast-paced, elevated environment.
Experience with reservation/waitlist systems (e.g., OpenTable or Resy) preferred.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, elevated bistro environment with a genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality.
