We are seeking friendly and reliable Short order Cook, team members to support daily food service operations, including cashiering, customer service, and general cafe support, with occasional involvement in catering activities.

  • Rotation 5/7 (This includes weekends with exceptions)

  • Hourly rate: 17.00 $+ / hour with benefits after 1 month

As a Short order Cook, you will:

  • Under the general supervision of the Chef Manager, prepares and cooks foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.
  • Sets up, maintains, and breaks down station according to food operating guidelines.
  • Tastes all products produced to assess quality.
  • Notifies Sous Chef and /or Executive Chef of all product shortages and equipment maintenance issues.
  • Prepares and serves items in accordance with established portion and presentation standards.
  • Maintains accurate counts on all food items prepared, ensuring no discrepancies in amount of food needed verses amount of food prepared.
  • Uses food preparation equipment according to manufacturers instructions.
  • Cleans and maintains station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
  • Follows defined food sanitation guidelines in preparation of food product and maintaining work environment.
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Attends training programs as designated.
  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment.
  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures and all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Required: Food Safe Level I is minimum. Safe Check advanced food safety certification or HACCP certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 1 years cooking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environment
  • Personal and professional integrity, appearance, and demeanor
  • A team-first attitude and strong communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job demands (e.g., lifting, standing for long periods)
  • Commitment to safety, respect, and inclusion
