Job DetailsThe Lunchroom is looking for a full-time or part-time Baker to join our team at our new location at Plaza del Lago in Wilmette. This position will work mornings and days to make baked goods for our cafe menu, grab and go cases and catering business. We offer a small team where all team members contributions are valued.
In our Gold Coast location downtown, The Lunchroom sits inside SPACE 519, a meticulously curated fashion and lifestyle destination recently featured in The New York Times . The Lunchroom, a 40-seat breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch restaurant with an all-day cafe, is winner of OpenTable Diners Choice, Chicago Magazines Hot List, and Modern Luxury Brunch Buzz. This concept will be entirely replicated at the much-anticipated historic redevelopment of Plaza del Lago.
The Baker will be charged with baking scones, sweet and savory muffins, cookies, tarts, cakes, quiches, and other baked goods including doughs. This position does not work with laminated dough.
Our ideal candidate will be organized and precise with an eye towards consistency and quality. They must be able to work independently to diligently follow restaurant recipes and upon proving him/herself may also be asked to develop recipes for new items. Working in an open kitchen environment requires our Culinary Team to be professional in appearance and polished to deliver exceptional output to the stores upscale clientele.
