Description
As a Banquet Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of all areas and corridors of the hotel's Banquet.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Be readily available and approachable for all guests
Take a proactive approach when dealing with guest's concerns
Know local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotel
Recognize and report potential safety hazards, such as broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.
Understand and follow policies and procedures for the hotel's key control system
Ensure public spaces are cared for according to brand and IHM standards
Notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace them on the housekeeping cart when appropriate
Deliver soiled linens to the laundry department Rotate linens in storerooms
Replenish storeroom supplies
Clean furniture, elevators, glass, planters, etc., in public areas, such as the lobby, pool, and public restrooms
Sweep and vacuum floors, hallways, and stairwells
Report maintenance problems or complete work repair orders
Spot clean walls, carpets, light fixtures, etc.
Deliver special request items such as cribs to guest rooms
Pick up trash from the parking lot and garden areas
Job Qualifications:
Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
Ability to anticipate the needs of the guests and acknowledge their requests
Ability to work well in stressful situations
Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
