Description

Position Summary

The Housekeeper cleans and services the Nursing Home, Assisted Living, Memory Support and The Alsatian, and all areas of St. Joseph Senior Living to ensure safety, health and morale of residents, visitors and employees by helping provide a clean, attractive and safe environment with minimal interference to others. Reports to Director of Housekeeping and Laundry.

Skills and Abilities:

Will be trained in equipment used in Housekeeping, as with the ability to perform tasks as needed. Good verbal and written communication and the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Must maintain confidentiality and the ability to prioritize to ensure good time management.

Education and/or Experience:

Ability to read, write, speak, and follow written and oral instructions. Previous Housekeeping experience a plus but not required.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Daily maintenance of all floors in assigned areas (dust mop, wet mop, vacuum, spot clean carpets, carpet extraction and furniture upholstery.

Daily cleaning of at least 20 rooms a day of horizontal surfaces and spot clean vertical surfaces. High dust all ledges, vents, lights, and television.

Daily cleaning of bathrooms (public and resident's) and replenishing all products.

Discharge cleaning of assigned rooms as they become available in assigned areas, or as directed.

Assigned project work which includes cleaning walls, blinds, televisions, and windows inside and out.

Daily stocking carts and rooms.

Other duties as assigned by Director of Housekeeping or Administration.
