Eastwood Event Centre is located in Niles, Ohio, midway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh, Eastwood Event Centre is a premier venue offering a blend of sophistication and versatility for a wide range of events. Spanning nearly 30,000 square feet with 14-foot ceilings, the facility features six configurable meeting rooms capable of accommodating gatherings from 10 to 700 guests.

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team at Eastwood Event Centre. This role focuses on preparing and executing high-quality dishes for banquet functions, including plated meals, buffets, and hors d’oeuvres. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains exceptional standards of food quality and presentation, and collaborates effectively with the kitchen team to deliver outstanding dining experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold dishes for banquet functions, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Station Setup & Breakdown: Efficiently set up and break down banquet cooking stations, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are in place.
  • Menu Execution: Follow Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to execute menus to exact specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation; monitor food temperatures and portion sizes.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing food inventory levels, placing orders as needed, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
  • Sanitation & Safety: Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations; maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Banquet Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Adaptability: Respond to last-minute changes or unexpected demands with flexibility and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Culinary Knowledge: Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Education: Culinary degree or equivalent training is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Excellent knife skills and proficiency in diverse cooking techniques.

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Certifications: ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot, noisy environment.
