Who We Are
Located at lake level in The Edgewater’s historic Langdon Building, The Boathouse serves authentic Wisconsin favorites. In addition to serving Madison locals, The Boathouse also caters to guests of our beautiful 4-Star hotel and is the only restaurant in downtown Madison directly on Lake Mendota. Customers can visit us directly from the lake and tie up their boat on our pier!
What We Accomplish Together
The Edgewater offers the highest quality of customer service delivered to our guests both in and out of our restaurants.
Our Line Cooks are responsible for accurately and efficiently cooking meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products, as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. The Line cooks will also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation and presentation, including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

What You Have
- Minimum two years’ cooking experience, preferably in a high-volume kitchen.
- Ability to read and comprehend recipes and restaurant tickets.
- A flexible schedule and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- The ability to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds daily.
- Able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
- A cooperative attitude with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation, safety and serving guests with allergies.
Working Conditions
This position operates in a full-service, professional kitchen environment. The Line Cook is required to use commercial grade kitchen equipment, such as cooking instruments and cooking devices. This position requires evening/weekend work.
