Housekeeping Associate (full time)

Pendle Hill** is a Quaker study, retreat, and conference center that welcomes guests including spiritual seekers, adult students, and conference groups to our 24-acre campus. The Housekeeping Associate provides cleaning services to ensure a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for our guests and staff. Programs and conferences include both day programs and overnight stays on campus for guests. Housekeeping Associates report to the Housekeeping Coordinator and work collaboratively to track and improve procedures for maintaining dining rooms, guest lodging, offices, and meeting rooms. All employees are expected to demonstrate openness to a wide range of spiritual beliefs and experiences, cultural backgrounds and practices, and differences (of all kinds).

Duties include cleaning guest bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges, offices, dining, and meeting rooms. Specific cleaning tasks include changing bed linens, collecting and sorting laundry, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping. Associates must be able to follow daily checklists, maintain an organized inventory of housekeeping supplies, and manage tasks efficiently to ensure spaces are ready before guests arrive. Staff are expected to attend all-staff meetings twice per month.

Qualifications: Good communication skills and friendly demeanor; ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, climb or balance when cleaning guest rooms; ability to push a heavy supplies cart; ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, including furniture; ability to walk outside between campus buildings in varying weather conditions; good attention to detail; and enjoy cleaning!

This is a full-time, non-exempt position of 37.5 hours/week and is not eligible for remote work. Workdays may include weekends or holidays (with an alternate floating holiday provided).
