DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will assist in the upkeep of facilities and grounds within the Cornplanter Forest District, utilizing basic hand and power tools across various trades, including carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing. Your duties will encompass seasonal maintenance tasks that support recreational activities, wildlife habitats, wildfire management, and forestry operations. This includes performing ground maintenance around facilities through mowing, trimming, planting, and leaf removal. You will operate equipment such as chainsaws, portable generators, post hole diggers, and lawn mowers, while also ensuring the proper maintenance of all assigned tools and supplies. Additionally, you will employ hand tools like axes, rakes, shovels, and drills, and assist in the routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment to ensure their optimal operation.

- Seasonal, full-time employment without benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position will require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C drivers license or equivalent.
