St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is currently seeking two part-time Baristas to join the team at Ed's Coffee Shop and Cafe. These positions support the Unit Manager in the day-to-day operations of the cafe, including customer service, food and beverage preparation, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

These positions are scheduled Monday through Friday. The hours vary between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a maximum of 28 hours per week. There will be some occasional weekend hours. These are recurring academic-year roles, working annually from mid-August through mid-May.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Wait on customers and answer questions regarding services and products available in the Coffee Shop.

  • Prepare food and beverages, including sandwiches, pizza, coffee, smoothies, etc.

  • Use point-of-sale cash register.

  • Prep food for future purchases.

  • Clean, sweep, mop, sanitize, and take out garbage and recycling.

  • Rotate and arrange inventory.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-3 years of retail food and customer experience.

  • Dedicated to working in a mission-driven environment, with a profound respect for and commitment to preserving the rich traditions of Catholicism, Norbertine values, and the liberal arts.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.

  • Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

  • Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment.

  • Knowledge of coffee bars and how to make products in such establishments is a plus. Training provided.
