Responsibilities

The Armstrong Early Learning Center of Whitley County Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate part-time Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for assisting the Program Director or Food Service Director with the planning and daily operations of the food service program.

• Support the daily operations of food service program, assisting with menu planning and meal prep.
• Collaborate with the program or Food Service Director to help manage pantry inventory, food order and deliveries.
• Serve with attention to safety by maintaining a clean sanitary and organized kitchen and eating space.
• Implement YMCA policies and food safety standards from the State of Indiana, accrediting agencies, and the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
• communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
• Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm.
• Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency.
• Proficient in computer usage and possess the ability to grow with computer technology.
• An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
• Successfully complete within 60 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/O2 Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen training, Child Abuse Prevention training, and all other required training as specified by your supervisor.

Salary: Part-time $13.00-$13.50 hourly

Shifts Available: 6:00am-9:15am
