Job Summary:The VIP Lounge Food Runner ensures the timely, accurate, and elegant delivery of food and beverage items to guests in a premium or luxury lounge environment. This role is crucial in supporting the kitchen and service teams by acting as a liaison, maintaining high service standards, and creating a seamless and upscale experience for VIP guests.
Key Responsibilities: Food & Beverage DeliveryRun food orders from the kitchen to the lounge floor promptly and accurately.
Assist in setting up and replenishing buffet or à la carte service stations.
Ensure food presentation meets luxury brand standards before serving.
Deliver special or custom orders to VIP guests discreetly and professionally.
Interact with guests in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
Respond to guest requests or concerns quickly and relay messages to servers or supervisors.
Maintain a strong presence on the lounge floor to support servers with clearing, resetting, and delivering items as needed.
Anticipate guest needs and offer proactive service, such as drink refills or additional condiments.
Communicate efficiently with chefs, servers, and lounge management to ensure smooth operations.
Coordinate timing for multiple food orders and ensure hot/cold food is delivered at the correct temperature.
Notify kitchen of any special dietary requests or allergies noted by servers or guests.
Ensure food runners' stations, trays, and service areas are clean and organized at all times.
Assist with bussing and resetting tables during peak service.
Comply with all sanitation and hygiene standards, including proper handling of food and equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a luxury hospitality or food service environment (preferred).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Polished and professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high-end service environment.
Excellent teamwork and time management skills.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and lift trays or food items (up to 25 lbs).
Flexible availability, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus, especially in international lounges.
Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures (ServSafe or Food Handler Certificate preferred).
High-end, fast-paced VIP lounge environment (such as an airport, 5-star hotel, or private club).
Interaction with elite clientele, including business executives, celebrities, or frequent travelers.
May require movement between kitchen and lounge areas frequently and quickly.
