General Maintenance Technician

Summary:

The General Maintenance Technician will maintain the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and painting task. Complete maintenance request work orders from Director of Engineering and through our work order system. Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment.

Job Description:

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all building common area as scheduled, this requires the individual to visually inspect and detect items needing repair and requires knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trade.
• Maintain timelines and work schedules in accordance with the preventive maintenance programs.
• Receive daily work order assignments from the department head.
• Respond to maintenance calls and complaints in a positive and polite manner.
• Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
• Make rounds checking problem areas and note any information needed for safety concerns in the building.
• Perform minor plumbing work orders: unclog drain lines, repair or replace valves, replace gasket, valves, vacuum breaker.
• Think quickly and act appropriate in emergency situation.
• Ensure jobsite is clean and orderly after the completion of all jobs.
• Report major repair and safety concerns
• Detailed record keeping in English is required for logs and inspection sheets.
• Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
• Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in timely, friendly, and efficient manner.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Minimum qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
