Sandy Cove Ministries is seeking a full-time Lobby Janitor to join our team.
Position Summary: Provide cleaning and sanitization for the public bathrooms, general hallways, and lobby areas at Sandy Cove through generalized cleaning efforts to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.
General Purpose: To maintain clean and sanitary bathrooms and lobby areas to create a welcoming environment for guests and staff so that they can continue to connect with God and each other.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Professionally clean general lobby areas, hallways, public bathrooms, administrative offices, exercise rooms, and TV rooms using proper sanitary procedures.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop areas (depending on the type of flooring)
- Dust furniture and clear any signs of cobwebs or accumulation dust
- Restock appropriate rooms with paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and fresh towels
- Clean mirrors and windows to ensure they are clear and free of spots/marks
- Remove all trash from areas and wipe down trash cans as needed
- Wipe down gym equipment with proper sanitization techniques
- Remove trash from housekeeping and take it to the dumpsters
- Clean outside mats and entrances
- Vacuum and wipe down stairwells and railings once a week
- Remove trash and recycling by copy machine & mailroom
- Perform carpet cleaning, using the host machine, when needed
- Notified Housekeeping manager or submitted maintenance tickets for new light bulbs in hallways, or other maintenance issues inside.
- Help change filters in guest rooms and vacuum covers.
- Clean bathroom exhaust fans in restrooms and guest rooms
- Clean light panels in elevators
- Clean cobwebs, ceiling fans in cabins, exhaust fans, and ac/heater units in cabins.
- Clean Chandeliers in Chesapeake Lodge
- Stock supplies on shelfs and in areas where supplies are kept
- Help to prepare towels and trash on Mondays from rooms on unavailable days.
- Assist with laundry as needed by sorting, washing, drying, and folding all linens used for guest rooms
- Assist with Housekeep responsibilities as needed
- Perform any other reasonable task assigned
Essential skills and experience:
- Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance
- Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment and to use cleaning supplies
- Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions
- Willingness to meet the needs of the guests during their stay

- Work environment: While performing the duties of this position, the noise level in the work environment is usually minimal. This position may be exposed to cleaning chemicals.
Compensation : Minimum: $15.00/hr. | Maximum: $18.00/hr.
