Purpose of the Housekeeping Supervisor:

The purpose of the Housekeeping Supervisor is to perform both custodial and supervisory work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspecting buildings for cleanliness, completed work and needed repairs
• Overseeing the job performance of other custodial staff during shift
• Prepares reports of work activities
• Establish and enforce department policies and disciplinary procedures as necessary
• Distribute and monitor usage and inventory of all cleaning products
• Ensure all safety requirements are being followed by staff
• Plans, schedules and implements cleaning and minor projects
• May assist in interviews and selection of custodial staff
• Assist Housekeeping Manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels
• May assist in preparing budgets for staff, equipment and supplies
• Plans, assigns and supervises the work of others
• Perform regular custodial duties such as: cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, polishing floors using industrial vacuums and buffing machines, washing walls, windows, mirrors, light fixtures and pictures, in addition to cleaning restrooms, replenishing restroom supplies and emptying waste receptacles onsite
• Adhere to all corporate and local policies, procedures and operating guidelines
• Demonstrate abilities to meet performance expectations with communication, initiative, problem solving, customer service/interpersonal relations, work habits, conduct and responsible gaming/business ethics
• Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness
• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-5 years of experience in custodial/housekeeping work
• 2-5 years of experience or training in a supervisor role
• Experience and education may be substituted for one another
• Ability to handle stressful conditions with both customers and employees
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment and solutions
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop and bend for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Must be knowledgeable or able to learn ADP system efficiently
• Must possess excellent guest service skills, follow directives from management and lead others to carry out tasks
• Must possess sound judgment and the ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor
• Must have high patience level to be able to train individuals who may not have had exposure to the gaming industry or custodial industry previously
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members
• This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of company policy and procedures, state regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities
• Must possess the ability to obtain a Minnesota Racing Commission gaming license

Physical, intellectual and environmental conditions:

• Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including night, weekends and holidays
• Ability to handle frequent walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending and lifting up to 40lbs
• Must be able to work flexible shifts in a crowded noisy environment
