Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.
Strips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines.
Follows procedures for disposing of infectious waste.
Maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.
Sets up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, or other occasions as assigned.
Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
Strips, decontaminates, and makes beds for patients, residents, students, etc.
May perform grounds work by picking up trash, watering plants, light mowing, weed trimming, etc.

Location: at Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center
Career Progression Group: vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Custodian 1 or Custodian 2, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
Appointment Type: Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center.
Compensation:
This position has premium pay for longevity as follows:
$1.000-6 Months$1.256 Months to 3 years$1.503 years to 5 years$1.755 years to 10 years$2.0010 years to 15 years$2.2515 Plus yearsThis position has shift differential based on the shift you work, please see below:
