This individual will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, in alignment with CACFP guidelines and child nutrition standards. Hours : Part-time / 20 hours per week Key Responsibilities : Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks for enrolled children. Follow posted menus and modify meals for children with allergies or dietary restrictions. Ensure kitchen and food prep areas are clean, organized, and sanitized at all times. Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, and utensils. Receive, rotate, and store food and supplies using the FIFO method. Maintain daily food production records, temperature logs, and sanitation checklists. Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Communicate and coordinate with teaching staff to ensure smooth mealtime operations. Alert the supervisor of supply shortages, maintenance needs, or other concerns. Capable of assuming kitchen supervisor duties when needed. Qualifications : High school diploma or GED required. Prior food service or cooking experience preferred (especially in schools or childcare settings). Familiarity with food safety practices ; ServSafe certification a plus. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods. Must pass background checks and meet all state childcare licensing requirements.
