The Vermont Irish Pub, d/b/a The Killarney, located in Ludlow, VT, seeks
five full time, temporary line cooks with description and requirements
as below.
Line Cooks are responsible for cooking line setup, station setup and
cleaning duties, including washing dishes and items used in food
preparation before, during, and after service. Line Cooks will be
responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats,
vegetables, desserts, and other food items in the restaurant. They will
create daily specials and ensure the quality of the products being
prepared and served. They will perform trash removal, ordering, order
inventory and placement after delivery, and serving as expediter on the
server side. Line cooks are seen as leaders and mentors for new kitchen
employees, liaising between the kitchen and front of house by
disseminating information about meal ingredients, quantity on hand if
applicable, and other pertinent information for Front Of House. They
report to the owner, chef, and manager for the day and must maintain a
steady presence during stressful situations, demonstrating the ability
to lead as well as follow.
Qualified line cooks will be trained on four stations if applicable:
Grill cook, Fryolator cook, Sautee/middle, and Garmache.
*Terms & conditions of employment:\
*Work will be performed in Ludlow, VT.\
\$20.28/hour, at 40 hours/week, Monday-Sunday, shifts vary. Example
shifts are 10am-6pm and 1pm-8pm. Overtime available as needed. Overtime
rate of pay is at least \$30.42/hour.
*Inbound transportation:\
*From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the
U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50%
of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment
of transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the
place of employments.
*Outbound* *transportation:\
*Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed
earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker\'s reasonable
cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place
the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not
return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of
transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most
economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
*Disclosure of daily subsistence amount:\
*Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of \$16.28 per day during
travel to a maximum of \$68.00 per day with receipts.
*Three-fourths guarantee not required due to 2016 Omnibus:*\
Three-fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours
equal to at least three fourth of the workdays in each 12-week period of
the total employment period.
*Provision of tools, equipment, and supplies:*\
Tools, equipment, and supplies: The employer will provide workers at no
charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform the job.
*Single work week guarantee and frequency of pay:*\
Miscellaneous: The employer will use a single workweek as its standard
for computing wages due. The pay period is biweekly.
*Statement of deductions from worker\'s pay:*\
The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will
not make any deductions which are not required by law.
*Reimbursement of border, visa, and related fees:*\
The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for
all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees,
including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker.
