What You'll Do:
We're looking for a Lead Floor Care Technician to help keep our Facility spotless and support the success of our team. If you know your way around a buffer and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others, this is your chance to shine!
- Clean and care for floors like tile, vinyl, carpet, and concrete using the right tools and methods. This includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and buffing.
- Use and take care of machines like buffers, auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and carpet cleaners.
- Set a good example by showing safe, professional, and high-quality work every day.
- Help your team by answering questions, solving problems, and giving friendly guidance during shifts.
- Help train new and current staff on how to clean floors, use equipment, and stay safe.
- Keep the team motivated by staying positive, encouraging others, and recognizing great work.
- Work with your supervisor to plan tasks, report broken equipment, and make sure supplies are stocked.
- Complete daily cleaning jobs and bigger floor care projects, either on your own or with a team.
- Follow safety rules, wear protective gear, and keep floors clean and free of spills or hazards.
- Talk clearly and respectfully with coworkers and supervisors to help keep everything running smoothly.
Day in the Life:
- Start your shift by reviewing the day's schedule and checking in with your team.
- Gather supplies and equipment, making sure everything is ready and in working order.
- Walk through assigned areas to assess floor conditions and plan tasks for yourself and the team.
- Offer guidance to team members, especially those still learning the ropes.
- Motivate the team with a positive attitude, encouragement, and hands-on support.
- Monitor progress throughout the shift, stepping in to assist or coach as needed.
- Communicate with supervisors about supply needs, equipment issues, or project updates.
- Wrap up by cleaning equipment, storing supplies, and reviewing the day's work with the team.
What You'll Need:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in floor care, and janitorial services.
- Solid understanding with floor care machines and cleaning techniques.
- Ability to guide and support others.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Willingness to train others and share best practices.
- Positive attitude and team spirit.

Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per shift, often on hard surfaces like tile or concrete.
- Use hands and arms for repetitive tasks such as mopping, scrubbing, and operating machines.
- Lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds (equipment, supplies, or furniture).
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to clean under furniture or along baseboards.
- Operate heavy-duty floor care equipment like buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.
- Maintain good vision and hearing to safely use equipment and communicate with team members.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, or masks when needed.
- Work indoors in busy, high-traffic areas like hallways, lobbies, or dining spaces.
- Be exposed to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants-must follow safety procedures.
- Handle noise and vibration from machines like buffers and vacuums.
- Work in warm, cool, or drafty areas, especially near entrances or loading zones.
- Navigate around furniture, equipment, and people in shared workspaces.
