Overview
A full-time nanny/housekeeper/cook is sought for a family of four in Weston, CT. This role is open to live-in and live-out candidates (a separate living space with a private entrance will be provided to live-in candidates). The schedule will be a guaranteed 46 hours per week, as follows (candidates are free to do as they please around these hours):
- Monday through Thursday: 6-9:30am, 1:30-7:30pm
- Sunday: 7am-12pm, 5-8pm
- Light Childcare: Be there in the morning to get children to school and support in the afternoons. Oversee the familys 9 year-old daughter in the afternoons to ensure she is engaged in something fun and creative. Be a warm and caring presence to the familys 15 year old son and work with their sons caregiver to understand best practices and medications. Experience with autism/special needs is preferred (he has his own dedicated nanny).
- Food Prep and grocery shopping: Prepare simple breakfast (fresh juice, fruit, bacon, eggs, avocado, waffles etc.), lunch (soup, salmon, chicken, rice, vegetables, wraps etc.) and dinner (more of the same) for the children and parents, as well as lunches for the children to go to school with.
- Home Care/Cleaning: Make beds daily, change sheets as needed, take out trash and recycling, family laundry, including placing clothes in closets, dishes, and general tidying. Keep cars clean and tidy. Operate a rotating schedule of organizing/special projects. Candidates will have the support of a 1x/week deep clean service.
- Household Organization: Maintain an organized, clean, and functional home environment by overseeing cleaning schedules, managing supplies, and ensuring efficiency.
- Pet Care: Help with the daily care and management of two friendly dogs (30lbs), including fetching, feeding, and basic upkeep (dogs do not need to be walked).
- Errands: At the direction of the Principals and House Manager, run occasional errands in conjunction with the daily routine.
- Occasional Travel: Depending on the trip, travel with the family on vacation (generally, to the Caribbean/Colorado/Vermont/Florida, but the destination may vary). Assist with packing and preparing for travel. Support the familys ad-hoc/miscellaneous travel needs while traveling.
- Previous experience working with children with Autism is a huge plus (but not essential)
- Be comfortable traveling domestically and internationally with the family
- Working well on a team with involved parents and additional caregivers
- A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent professional experience is preferred
- US passport, Green Card or EAC
- Able to swim
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record - this is non-negotiable
- Must feel comfortable and excited to work collaboratively with other household staff - team players only
- Flexibility and willingness to travel whenever needed
- Candidates should be loving, kind, patient, and able to provide developmentally appropriate engagement and structure to both children
- Candidates must be comfortable performing in a role that requires many hats, with a no job is too big or too small mentality
- Desire to make a long-term commitment to a loving and down to earth family
- $50/hr ($127,400 guaranteed per year)
- Healthcare stipend/reimbursement of $500/month
