POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fitness Team Member provides support for day-to-day operations and fitness programing. The Fitness Team Member is expected to provide world-class customer service to all members and guests and has a thorough working knowledge of all fitness programs and offerings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Directly aligns with the venue's Mission Statement and Core Values
- Ensure facility users adhere to the venue guidelines to provide a safe atmosphere for users and protect the facility from property damage
- Monitor the use of all equipment in the Fitness Center
- Report any equipment defects to the Fitness Coordinator or other members of the managerial staff
- Carry out standard upkeep of equipment and make certain they are safe to use
- Monitor fitness center floor to ensure equipment remains in the facility and report any unaccounted-for equipment
- Frequently replenish supplies in facility, e.g. disinfectant wipes, paper towels etc.
- Make sure all weights, dumbbells, bands, clips, etc. are safely and appropriately stored
- Encourage guests to wipe down equipment with disinfectant at the conclusion of usage
- Clean equipment with disinfectant spray upon patron completion, or as instructed by the Fitness Coordinator
- General maintenance checks of gym equipment, facilities and other fitness center equipment
- Make note of general maintenance or small items for repair purposes
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and other necessary tasks to be performed as needed during each shift
- Cleaning of group exercise facilities and all equipment used
- Set up and tear down of equipment for the respective group exercise classes offered at the venue
- Assist with facility and equipment closeout procedures as needed during each shift
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Managers on Duty
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 16 years old or older
- Experience in a fitness/gym setting (preferred)
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours) and regular attendance necessary
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must work well in a team environment
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high
- Will be required to stand for extended periods of time
- Must have a flexible schedule (mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.)
- Facility has intermittent noise
