Great things are happening at the T. Marzetti Top Quality Baking (TQB) and as we continue to grow the T. Marzetti Company is looking to hire team members who will grow with us on our journey towards world class operational excellence. This position provides for the inspections, maintenance and repair of the plant’s machinery, grounds, buildings, and equipment. This is the fourth level in the maintenance classification and must meet the helper, mechanic level D, mechanic level C and mechanic level B job description. Expected to perform job functions under minimal supervision. Provides maintenance support required to sustain continuous operation of production equipment. Performs major repairs and periodic maintenance to all plant equipment & assists in overhaul of equipment. Inspects & evaluates all equipment to determine repair/maintenance needs prior to hazards or downtime situations. Has completed all previous tech level requirements.
Responsibilities- Support General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are Priority #1.
- Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitor
- Meet all the function from mechanic level D, C and B
- Proficient in reading electrical diagrams and troubleshooting electrical components.
- Able have knowledge to go online with a compact, control, or micro logix processor using Ethernet or serial cable.
- Proficient in understanding of PLC programs.
- Replace/program different types drives and able to use the drive programmer (HMI) to upload and download programs.
- Must be able to replace and program any VFD drive in plant also able to add a VFD to a program using Device Net or Ethernet.
- Must be able to set-up and replace all Servo drives in the plant.
- Welds proficient with a tig and able to weld stainless steel sanitary argon purge welds.
- Maintains, operates, set-ups, & troubleshoots BSI baggers.
- Maintains and understand the Soy System operation and troubleshooting.
- Maintains and understand the Freezer #1, #2 operation and troubleshooting.
- Maintains, operates, set-ups, & troubleshoots & ADCO Box machine.
- Understand how the glycol system work.
- Maintains, operates, set-ups, & troubleshoots Vemag, Mixer, Nitrogen freeze, spiro cooler.
- Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
- Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
- Complete initial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training programs/records.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment requiring repetitive work preferred.
- 5–7 years experience and have demonstrated competency as a Maintenance Mechanic A in a food manufacturing environment.
- Post secondary education in Industrial Maintenance or related filed is preferred.
- Possess strong problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – and work well with Team Members and Management
- Strong mechanical aptitude, good math skills and ability to use gauges and measuring tools are required.
- Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
- May be required to go to different shifts for training or provide training.
- May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
Working Conditions/Environment
- Works in a manufacturing environment where the Team Member is regularly required to speak, read, and comprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more.
- Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Stand for up to 12 hours with regular breaks.
- The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap.
- SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) and smocks are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the Team Member.
